Getting started

How do I install PoolBuddy?
The App Store listing is coming. Until then, PoolBuddy is available as an early-access build — email us for access.

What devices does PoolBuddy support?
PoolBuddy runs on iPhone and in any modern desktop browser. The full diagnostic flow requires an iPhone; everything else — water chemistry, marketplace, service, journal, roadmap — works in a browser equally well.

Do I need to create an account?
No. PoolBuddy identifies pools by an address slug. There's no login, no password, no email signup.

Using PoolBuddy

My scan failed — what now?

  • Make sure your iPhone stayed unlocked during the scan.
  • Check that you allowed Motion, Microphone, and Location permissions on first run. You can re-enable them in iOS Settings → PoolBuddy.
  • If the app shows "Backend unreachable," tap the recovery button on the banner.

How accurate is the diagnosis?
Every diagnosis includes a confidence score. PoolBuddy never claims certainty it hasn't earned. As we gather more data, accuracy improves.

Why did PoolBuddy recommend a chemical I disagree with?
Please tap the ✏️ Feedback button and describe what you expected — we use these to refine the engine. Never act on a chemistry recommendation you're uncomfortable with; consult a licensed pool professional or your local pool store for a second opinion.

Can I export my data?
Yes. Email us and we'll provide an export of everything tied to your pool.

Marketplace and service

How does the marketplace work?
PoolBuddy surfaces relevant products and lets you hand off the purchase to a retailer. PoolBuddy is not the seller.

What does forwarding a service ticket do?
It composes a draft email containing the ticket's diagnosis, parts needed, and pool details. You decide what to send and to whom. We don't auto-forward anything.

Privacy and data

Where does my data live?
On your iPhone and on the PoolBuddy backend. See the Privacy Policy for the full breakdown.

Do you sell my data?
No. We do not sell, rent, or share your data with advertisers, data brokers, or marketers.

Can I delete everything?
Yes — delete the pool inside the app, or email us for a full account-wipe.

Security

Found a security issue in PoolBuddy? Email security@poolbuddy.ai with the details. We take responsible disclosure seriously and will acknowledge receipt within two business days. Please give us a reasonable window to remediate before public disclosure.
